Wind Pump Power, LLC
Overview

The Wind Pump 100 kilowatt wind turbine
reduces the number of complicated mechanical
and electronics systems in the nacelle of the
typical utility-scale wind turbine, and instead uses
a hydraulic drive.

The generator and the control system are
mounted on the ground, not above the tower in
the nacelle.

The wind turbine blades are mounted to a
hydraulic pump motor combination. This
arrangement simplifies the task of regulating
generator speed under varying wind conditions. It
also greatly reduces the nacelle's overall weight
and isolates the generator from the
low-frequency torsional vibrations that
characterize wind turbines.

The hydraulic drive results in a smaller, lighter
nacelle. The tower and base to support the
smaller, lighter nacelle is less expensive, and
most maintenance activities take place at ground
level.

The control system includes Internet connectivity
for remote monitoring of the wind turbine, locally
and at our headquarters. The wind turbine
comes with standard five-year warranty.
